Emergency
Care
If you phone our hospital during
the hours it is closed, the
answering machine will provide you with an emergency number. Please
contact the veterinarian on call for emergency care. During regular
hospital hours, patients will be seen in the following order:
emergencies, appointments, walk-ins. We encourage you to call ahead in
the event of an emergency to allow us time to prepare for the patient.
We discourage walk-ins since there is no guarantee we will be able to
accommodate you and your companion. However, you are always welcome to
drop off your companion for us to look at as soon as we are able to. We
will always contact you before proceeding with any kind of treatment to
discuss the case.
Fees and Estimates
Our fees will always be kept fair
and appropriate. They will be
determined by the amount of time we spend with you and your use of
hospital services. Please ask the doctor for a written estimate and
explanation of fees charged.
Telephone consultation
We provide this service to our
clients whenever weather,
transportation or other handicaps make a hospital visit impossible. The
fee for consultation time is approximately the same as for consultation
in the examination room. A fee will be assessed for lengthy discussions
and advice unless it is brief or pertains to a recent hospitalization
or office visit.
Prescriptions
If your pet requires a
prescription, the doctors at Arlington
Animal Hospital will either fill the prescription right after the
appointment while you are still at the hospital or phone/fax the
prescription to a pharmacy of your choice (where applicable; certain
medications may not be available at human pharmacies). A professional
service fee may be attached to this service. If your pet requires a
prescription refill please call the hospital ahead of time. Refill
requests phoned in before 12 noon will be ready to be picked up the
same day after 6:00 PM, refills phoned in after 12 noon will be ready
after 12 noon the next day. This time delay is due to the fact that the
doctor in charge of the case has to authorize the refill and may not be
in the hospital at all times. Thank you for understanding. |
